She is survived by her son, Layton Ladd and two daughters; Lessie Wheeler and Phyllis Iverson. Four sisters; Chatherine Robinson, Yalonde Harris, Velma Hunt and Delma Richard. Six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Elton Jelks and Sabra Jelks. Husband A. P. Gibson, brother Charles Elton and son J. C. Ladd.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 11:00 am at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie.
