Ronald “Rotten Ronnie” Raymond Jacob passed away at his home surrounded by family on July 10, 2021 at the age of 77. His loving wife, Jamie Yochim Jacob, his daughter Jessica Jacob Kluttz (Charles), and son Corey James Jacob (Julie) survive him. He was “Paw-Paw Rotten” to Clare, Cody, Corynn, and Charlea Kluttz, Kaitlyn, Holden, and Blaise Jacob. He is also survived by his brother Robert Jacob (Linda), his sisters-in-law Connie Jacobs, Mary Lynn Jacob, Daryl Deshotel (Craig). Brothers-in-law, Brian Yochim (Linda), and David Yochim (Musette), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert Jacob, Sr. and Leona Jambois Jacob and his brothers Gilbert Jacobs, Jr. and Richard Jacob.
Ronnie was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church; he was a member of the American Legion Post #366 and the Steelworkers Union 750. Ronnie has a camp in Grand Isle, which was his happy place. He loved trawling & fishing for many years. Going weekly to the camp was understood, even when he wasn’t able to fish or trawl anymore.
Ronnie frequently cooked pastalaya for fundraisers. He loved cooking for CAGNO, Camp Challenge, Grand Isle Women’s Fishing Rodeo, LSI, fundraisers on Grand Isle etc.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass for Ronnie on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA, at 11AM.
