Anna Lucille Pablo, 83, passed away March 12, 2017. She was born in 1934 to the late William and Odelia Sprinkel in Baltimore, MD. Anna owned and operated several businesses in the Hampton Roads area for many years. She loved traveling, especially to her husband’s homeland in the Philippines and Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her dedicated husband, Hipolito Pablo, her sister Barbara Muffenbeier and her loving companion of many years Maximo Nuguid.
“Miss Anna” or “Lucy” was always helping those in need and many others beyond her immediate family called her “Mom.” She donated to charities and personally cared for those who couldn’t take care of themselves, even during times of her own difficulties. Mrs. Pablo was ahead of her time as a business woman as she ran multiple businesses in the 1950’s and 1960’s with her husband Hipolito Pablo and continued on her own after his death. This was very rare in those decades. Lucille loved to travel and visit friends and family in the US and the Philippines. As her daughters grew and progressed through school and college the Pablo home was the place to be for all their friends. Everyone knew that they would be treated like family and that good food was always there; especially special Filipino treats that were unique to the Pablo home. In addition to the human “strays” she was known to be the “go to” person if a dog needed a good and caring home. So there was always a “herd” running around with changing faces and names. But most importantly they, human and animal, all knew they were loved and family.
She is survived by her daughters; Dona Storey (Dave) and Doreen Fentress, Stepdaughter; Carmen Ramage and brothers; Lester and William Sprinkel.
Anna’s funeral will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502. The visitation will be Thursday night 5:00- 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
