Charles C. Kirby, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2014 at his residence. Born and raised in Norfolk Virginia. Charles graduated from Maury High School in 1946 then went on to Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary and VTI which is now known as Old Dominion University. He is a member of Port Norfolk Church in Portsmouth, Virginia. As a proud member of the US Army, he served in the Korean War in Germany. Charles retired after many years at the Naval Shipyard as an Electronics Engineer. He is survived by his loving wife Patty S. Kirby, children; Patricia D. Campbell, Katherine V. Perkins, and Stephen L. Kirby; 7 grandchildren; Charlie, Alex, and Brandon Campbell, Jessyca Williams, Samantha Mullens, Rebecca Perkins, and Ashlynne Langmeier, and 1 great-grandchild; Aria Mullens. Also surviving are his brothers; Raymond H. Kirby and David E. Kirby. A visitation will be held Monday August 4, 2014 from 6-8:30pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
