Cynthia Anne Marriner

Cynthia Anne “Cindy” Marriner passed away peacefully on October 12, 2020 in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the age of 77 after her fearless battle with cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her throughout this journey and ultimately gave her peace. Cindy was born to the late Thomas Ellis Marriner, Sr. and Gertie Mable Hassell Marriner on May 8, 1943 in Roper, North Carolina. She is survived by her brothers, Thomas Marriner (Judy), Dwight Marriner (Donna), and Bryant Marriner (Candy); and her sister, Janet Montelione (Joe); her children, Dwayne Eller, Kathy Eller, Michelle Vann (David), Tim Eller, Greg Eller, Sr. (Sheri), Arleen Painter (Dave), and Keaton Howsare (Marjie). She had 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Keith Marriner and Bradley Marriner; and her sisters, Sara Huie and Kaye Brothers. Cindy worked at Pembroke Commercial Realty for 43 year and retired in 2017. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was an active and dedicated member of Coastal Community Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her “happy place” was Lake Gaston where she could relax and spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, watching football, Nascar and traveling. We will never forget her beautiful wedding cakes and her lemon pound cakes.
