Emily Jean Parker

Emily Jean Parker, 83, passed away December 9, 2010 in Sentara Bayside Hospital with her family by her side. Mrs. Parker was born in New York City and came to Virginia Beach in 1961 after travelling the world with her late husband of 51years Charles H. Parker, Sr., who was in the Navy. She was employed by the Virginia Beach School System for 23 years where she assisted handicapped children as a bus aide. She truly loved helping others, particularly those in need.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Charles H. Parker, Jr. and his wife Judy of Virginia Beach and Jeff Parker of Portsmouth, VA.; her grandson, Christopher Parker and his wife Katherine of Virginia Beach, and her great-granddaughter Chloe Rose Parker. She is also survived by her two sisters Marie Gates of Ohio and Louise Iavarone of Florida and a brother Charles Vallone of New York. Mrs. Parker was pre-deceased by two brothers Otto Vallone of New Jersey and Frank Vallone of New York.

The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E.
