Emory J. (Jack) Dunning Jr., 70, passed away peaceably on December 18, 2017 surrounded by loving family. He was a native of Virginia and born to the late Emory J. Dunning Sr. and Jeanette Bull Dunning.
Jack was a Certified Public Accountant and a Banker by profession and served in this capacity for 28 years. He was also a member of the AICPA. Jack was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Old Dominion University as well as an Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church. Jack was known by many and will be missed by his community and by his loving family.
Jack leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 37 years, Rita C. Dunning; daughter, Tiffany Dunning Pulliam (Steven); step-son Stephen Todd Modlin; his mother, Jeanette Dudley, brother Richard (Nancy) Dunning and step-brother Rick (Wendy) Burkett .
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude for the loving care given to Jack by Dr. Michael Fabrizio, Dr. Ramon Virasoro of Urology of Virginia and Dr. Mark Fleming of Virginia Oncology Associates. Appreciation is also given to the staff of Intrepid Hospice for their exceptional care.
