

Felix Andrew Falkner, 64, passed away on Tuesday, March 1st at home surrounded by his loving family after his courageous battle with cancer. Felix was born in Norfolk on March 11, 1946 to the late John and Ann Falkiewicz. He graduated from Granby High School in 1964 and received a degree in History from ODU. He earned his Early Childhood Development certificate from TCC. Felix proudly served his country in the US Navy. At the time of his death, he was the co-administrator with his wife Kathleen, of Parkdale Private School in Norfolk for the past 22 years.
Felix loved being on the ocean in his boat fishing and diving with family and friends. He started his career as a reporter and copy editor for the Virginian-Pilot. Felix had a passion for photography and accompanied several Navy Mediterranean cruises as the official yearbook photographer. He was an entrepreneur in the security field forming his own company, Falkner Security, where he worked for many years prior to working with the school. He loved sports and as his sons grew up he was involved as a little league baseball coach.
Left to cherish his memory are: wife, Kathy Falkner; two sons; Paul Falkner and wife Erika, and Michael Falkner; a brother John and his wife Betty Falkiewicz; two sisters Mary Schwallenberg and Dennis Niner, Carol and husband Phil Clark; Uncles Tom, Steve, and John Marcinek; 19 nieces and nephews; four grand-nieces; and nephews who all adored him.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 5th at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church at 1803 Columbia Avenue in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, or to the American Diabetes Foundation Association.
