Frances Vanderbol Hirtz

She was born on July 22, 1929 in Clay Co., AR to Gabriel and Mary Walker VanderBol. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul J. Hirtz; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hirtz; son, Paul V. Hirtz and grandson, Benjamin Kirsch.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Donald, Mary C. Dziedziak (David), Amelia (Amy) Styles, Cecilia Kirsch (Michael), Mark and Vincent (Linda). 11 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Frances was a devout Catholic and lived her Faith daily. Her passions included gatherings with family and friends, playing games and singing.

She supported the Youth for Understanding Organization by hosting 30 exchange students. She loved spending time outdoors gardening and tending to her many ducks and geese. Knowing her family history was of great importance.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to their Mother’s care Lucy Austria and her staff at Stonehaven House and Sentara Hospice Group.

Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502 on July 20 from 4-8 pm. A Rosary Ceremony Service will take place at 6:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 on July 21st at 11 AM and Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA 23505. The Family invites you to attend the reception at the church following the internment.
