Harold G. "Jack" Dickerson, Sr. of Norfolk passed away on May 17, 2012. Jack was born in Chauncey, Ohio to Emmett and Elizabeth Dickerson. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II and later joined the Marine Corps Reserves. He retired from the classified advertising department of the Virginian Pilot in 1988. He was a long time member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and served as an usher for the 6:00 Saturday Mass. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by two sisters Dorothy Simmers and Betty Palmer and grandson Christopher Dickerson. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Kathleen Owens Dickerson, his children Harold, Jr. and wife Helen Dickerson, Deborah and husband James Napier, David and wife Annette Dickerson, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday at 11am at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5343 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach.
