

Obituary Henry (Bud) Frank Kessler, 73, of Smithfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully with his three sons by his side on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Henry R. and Doris Kessler, he lived most of his life in Ellicott City, Maryland and most recently in Smithfield, Virginia.
He was a member of the National Guard, retired from Westinghouse TCOM after 30 years of service as a drafting engineer and owned Kessler’s Seafood in Maryland with his brother Frank Kessler for many years. He loved the game of baseball and was a huge fan of the Orioles. He enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren, whether it was at a dance recital, horseback riding competition, a basketball, football or baseball game. He was a devoted Granddad.
He was extremely proud of his three sons, Kevin J Kessler and his wife Tracy, of Virginia Beach, VA, Christopher C Kessler and his wife Lorri, of Greenville, NC and Jason D Kessler of Winterville, NC. He is also survived by his brothers Raymond Kessler and his wife Pat of Mt Airy, MD, and Frank Kessler and his wife Alice of Gastonia, NC.
Also left to cherish his life are his stepchildren Frank Thompson and family of Fredericksburg, VA and Lisa Lovette and family of Portsmouth, VA.
Visitation Services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 1:30 to 3:00 at Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd Norfolk, VA 23502 (757)-455-2838. Funeral services will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Henry’s name to The American Cancer Society.
