Irene Elizabeth Jones

Irene Elizabeth Lindsay Jones, 100, passed away on Monday morning, August 7, 2023 in Norfolk. Irene was born in Hickory, North Carolina to the late John and Birdie Young Lindsay. She was also predeceased by her husband, Richard H. Jones, Sr. and their son, Richard, Jr. and his wife, Lainey. Irene was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her spare time she loved painting, a lot of her works consisted of flowers and landscapes. She was very talented at sewing and was an awesome seamstress. Irene also stayed active by gardening and also was very successful in growing squash. Irene is cherished in memory by her daughter, Janis Crosby and her husband, Dan; grandchildren from Richard, Jr. are Julie Dell-Jones and Stephen Dell-Jones; from Janis and Dan are Daniel Crosby, Ashley Crosby and Amy Crosby; great-grandchildren, Logan Crosby, Remi Crosby and Vivienne Crosby.
