

Jack Earl Stone was born to the late James (Herman) and Ruby Stone on March 8, 1923 in Freemont North Carolina. He was raised in the Norview area of Norfolk Virginia most of his life and attended Norview Schools. He joined the Navy in the 40’s and served honorably in World War II as a Navy Seabee. Before going to defend his country he met and fell in love with Mary Parsons. From their union they had one son, Richard whom they loved and adored. Jack loved his family, enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and playing poker. Throughout his life he had several occupations such as Insurance sales, owner of a Barber shop and Assistant Manager. However he was mostly known for working for N.A.R.F. as an Electroplatter. Jack spent his final days at Sentara Village in Norfolk Virginia with his wife until God decided to call him home. Jack is predeceased by his two brothers James Edward, and Herman (Buddy) Stone. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Mary L. Stone and son, Richard Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, he will be missed. Viewing will be held Thursday July 26, 2012 at 5:00 PM with funeral services to follow at 6:00PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. 23502.
