Jean E. Bazemore, 75, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2010. Mrs. Bazemore was born in Norfolk, VA, and was retired from the City of Norfolk after 28 years of service as a Food Service Manager with Norfolk Public Schools. She was a past President of the School Food Service Association and was a member of the Local Order of the Eastern Star and Moose Lodge #39. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth R. Bazemore II, a former Captain with the City of Norfolk Fire Department. Survivors include one daughter, Catherine B. Caburnay and one son Seth R. Bazemore, III, both of Norfolk; one sister, Barbara A. Buck of Norfolk; and four grandchildren, Michelle Caburnay, Myresa N. Caburnay, Seth R. Bazemore IV and Adam G. Bazemore. A funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Woodlawn Funeral Home of Norfolk. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday February 5, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or your local ASPCA.
