Joel Anthony Legaspi

.Joel Anthony Legaspi, 50, passed away January 21, 2018. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Virgilio Legaspi and Rose Sevilla. He was a graduate of Green Run High School and attended Radford University. He was a member of the Army National Guard with service in the 82nd Airborne Division, Fraternal Order of Police, and was recently elected Deacon at Calvary Virginia Beach. He was a Correctional Officer at Indian Creek Correctional Facility. Joel was a loving husband and father, and he enjoyed taking trips with his family. He was a kind-hearted man, and a good friend to many. He loved to have fun, enjoyed life, and was often found telling jokes. He loved camping, bonfires, and the stillness of the mountains. Joel is survived by his loving wife and son, Amanda and Kyle; mother, Rose; mother-in-law, Wanda; sisters Eva, Rubylee, Llumee, and sister-in-law Lorrie; brother-in-laws Rick, James, Emmanuel; nephews; Marcus, Ethan, Noah, Mason, Logan; nieces Cami, Evelyn; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is loved and will be greatly missed. Joel’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at 12pm at Calvary Virginia Beach, 4832 Haygood Road Virginia Beach 23455; with Interment immediately following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, VA. The family will receive visitors Friday January 26th from 5pm-8pm at Calvary Virginia Beach.
