Juanita Harrison Bouie

Juanita Harrison Bouie, 88, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 in Norfolk. Juanita was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Claudius and Sarah Harrison. Juanita was also predeceased by her husband, Samuel Preston Bouie and her brother, Claudius Bernard Harrison. Juanita graduated from Virginia State University to earn her college degree and teaching license where she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and later earned a Master's Degree in Urban Affairs at Norfolk State University. She retired from the Norfolk Public School System after 37 years of dedicated service to her students. Juanita was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was most known for her gifted heart. She generously provided to those around her tand to her church and ministry. In her spare time she loved shopping , watching her television shows, movies, and talking to her friends and family. She is cherished in memory by her loving sons, Renaud Bouie and Samuel Preston Bouie, Jr. as well as a host of other significant family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11am, Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
