Katherine Golden

Katherine Darlene Golden, 73, of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away on December 21, 2023. She was born on February 18, 1950 in Charleston, South Carolina. Katherine was a beloved mother and nana who dedicated her life to caring for others. Katherine had a vibrant personality and loved dogs, dancing, old western movies and musicals. She had a passion for traveling and spent her career helping others as a

Licensed Practical Nurse. Katherine is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Arrington of Virginia Beach, her son, Gene Arrington IV of Fredericksburg, and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Thomas of Virginia Beach. She is preceded in death by her father, George H. Golden Jr., her mother Bessie M. Golden, her sister, Patricia Simmons, her brother-in-law, Rob Simmons, her brother-in-law, Joseph Thomas III, and her nephew, David VanHoose. Katherine received her education from Princess Anne High School and furthered her studies at Old Dominion University and Tidewater Technical School.

A viewing will be held on Thursday the 28th from 6-8pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Norfolk, VA. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA in Katherine’s name.
