Laura L. Ward

Laura Lee Morton Ward, 76, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 12, 2016. She was born on October 3, 1939 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Edna Capps and Nicholas Morton. Her mother died when she was only five years old. She was raised by her mother’s sister Estelle Porter in Portsmouth, Virginia. When she was sixteen, she married William E. Ward Jr. (Bill). Laura was not only a working wife and a mother to her two children but she was also the founding president of the Plastic Surgery Administrators Association.

Left to cherish Laura’s memory are her husband of 60 years, Bill; daughter Linda Lee Ward Ellis and her husband Richard; her son William E. Ward III and his wife Rebecca Anne Stiso Ward; her 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, siblings Kenny Morton (Christina), Nicholas Morton Jr. (Elizabeth); and Grady Morton (Joyce). Other cherished family members include Mary Morton, Dianna Abbott, Sandra Stark, Sam Pasag, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank all of Laura’s caregivers who helped her during her last months including those from Compassionate Care and Seniorcorp. Special thanks go to Yvette and Bernice for their emotional and spiritual support.
