

Marjorie E. (Marj) Gregoire, 63, of the 6100 block of Tradewinds Court, passed away suddenly at her home, February 23, 2010. Born November 27, 1946, in Charlottesville, VA, she was the daughter of Coulter C. Houchens, Sr. and Nannie L. Houchens who predeceased her. Marj is survived by her husband of 33 years, Glenn M. Gregoire, Sr.; four children; daughter, Pamela B. Gregoire of Orlando, FL; son, Glenn M. Gregoire, Jr. of San Diego, CA; and twin daughters, Priscilla Louise Gregoire and Melissa Lynn Gregoire and her husband Chad Cruea all of Virginia Beach. Left to cherish her memory is her father, Coulter C. Houchens, Sr. and brother, Donald W. Houchens, both of Norfolk; her loving sissy, Jeanette S. Salamon, and her beloved niece, Jennifer L. Salamon, and nephew, J.T. Salamon. She is also suvived by sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gregoire Vettel and her husband Edward of Thompson, N.D.; Jean Johnson Gregoire of Denver, CO; brothers-in-law Keith A. Gregoire and wife Paula of San Jose, CA; Lee B. Gregoire and wife Jo of El Cajon, CA; and Gary J. Gregoire of Minneapolis, MN. She was predeceased by her mother, Nannie L. Houchens; brother, Coulter C. (Chris) Houchens, Jr.; and sister, Shelby Jean Houchens. Marj shared many stories of her treasured friendship with her loyal and dedicated friends, Elaine McDaniel and Peggy Reynolds who hold a special place in her heart. Following a 20+ year career with the Government and the birth of her twins, Marj spent the remainder of her years doing what she loved most - being a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved holidays, cookouts, and having her family around her. She enjoyed watching gameshows and movies with her devoted husband, Glenn, and loved to travel when she was able. Marj loved a good joke or story and had a robust laugh that was infectious. The viewing will be from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, February 26, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Satuday, February 27, at Woodlawn Funeral Home and interment will follow privately at a later date.
