Obituary of Marlin E. Stockdill
Marlin Ellsworth Stockdill, 87, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sylvia, three brothers, and a great granddaughter. He is survived by sons, Roy Stockdill and Stanley Stockdill (Michelle); and daughter, Cheryl Holtz (Fred); grandchildren, Heather Sipe, Ashley Spangler, and Joshua Stockdill; great grandchildren, Shawn and Matthew Sipe, Landon Henderson, Bella and Scarlett Spangler, Scott and Holden Reabe and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Marlin served in the US Navy for 22 years and Civil Service for 23 years, was a charter member of the Virginia Beach Oceanside Lions Club, and longtime member of Third Presbyterian Church. His funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. Burial following the funeral at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A Reception will be held following burial at Third Presbyterian Church, 8065 Carlton St., Norfolk, VA 23518.
