In 1952, they moved into a home designed by her and built by her father, Ivey and her brother, Mick on Land Street in Maple Hall and anyone who entered their door always felt welcome and loved. The holidays in their home were magic, overflowing with family, friends, good cheer, and a bountiful feast prepared by Wheat. She moved in 2021 to Lake Gaston, NC to live with her daughter, Judy, and her son-in-law, Johnnie, where she remained until entering Pine Forest Rest Home in Potecasi, NC in November 2024.
