

Sabino is predeceased by his parents, Sisenando V. and Tomasa Bagasan Tecson. Left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy is his wife of 58 years, Imelda Basconcillo Tecson; sons, Sisenando "Butch", John, (with his wife, Gretchen), and Edward (with his wife, Leah); grandchildren, Noah, Madison, Melaina, and Vincent and the entire Tecson and Basconcillo Family.
Sabino, or Didong as he was fondly known, was born in San Quintin, Pangasinan, Philippines on February 12, 1940. He is the oldest son of 13 siblings. After graduating high school, Sabino attended 2 years of college to study Commerce, but instead decided to join the US Navy. Sabino work his ranks up the US Navy for over 25 years and retired as a Chief E7. While with the US Navy, Sabino was able to travel the world before settling down in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area. Following retirement from the US Navy, Sabino worked for a short time with the US Postal Service. After the US Postal Service, Sabino enjoyed life. Traveling with his loving wife across the world. To the Philippines, Europe, Canada, and the Far/Southeast Asia, just to name a few. Strong with his Catholic faith, Sabino participated in pilgrimages and missionary work to help others in need. Towards the end of his life, Sabino enjoyed to dance, cook, garden, and spend time with friends and loved ones. Lastly, his best accomplishment was raising such a beautiful, loving, and humble family.
The family has requested masks to be worn at all of the services for Sabino Tecson. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4-8 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Homes at 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. in Norfolk. There will be a service during the Wake at 6PM by Father Christian of St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be at St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10 AM at 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd. in Virginia Beach with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. in Norfolk. The Family has invited attendees to come by Susan's Kitchenette at 1270 Diamond Springs Rd. in Virginia Beach to pick up a boxed lunch. There will be no dining in offered. Due to the pandemic, the family has kindly requested no visitors to their home.
