Sid was a veteran of the Korean war and a civil engineering graduate of Virginia Tech. He is a past elder of First Presbyterian church in Bristol, Tn., president of Bristol Host Lions Club in Bristol, Va. He was a past executive director of Volunteer Blind Industries, Morristown, TN and past president of Virginia-Carolina Structural Steel Fabrication Association.
After moving to Virginia Beach, he served as a volunteer marshal at Kempsville Greens Golf Course. He was very active in the Kempsville Greens Civic League, serving as president for 6 years and was the former owner and president of Virginia-Carolina Steel, Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, his son and daughter-in-law, his daughter and son-in-law, three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 6th at 2pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, followed by burial at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to invite guests to join them for a reception at Woodlawn Funeral Home, following the burial.
