Susan Lynn Harvey

Obituary for Susan L. Harvey- Freeburger September 14, 1955—February 9, 2021 Loving wife, caring nurse and mother Susan was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the second daughter to Frances Arlene Freeburger and Norman Elmer “Curley” Freeburger. She became a successful nurse, working in hospitals, long term care facilities and traveling as a quality consultant. She is the mother of Lawrence Thomas Hirsch and Carole Dye. She is grandmother of 4, Halie, Cierra, Reagan and Riley. She met the love of her life in 2012, Robert P. Harvey, M.D. They married on the beach of Chesapeake Bay July 4, 2014. Together they enjoyed biking, kayaking and just being together. In 2017 she was diagnosed with lung cancer and had her right lung removed. The cancer never re-appeared but complications from the surgery placed her in the hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia where much of that time was spent on a ventilator. After a miraculous recovery, she returned home in March, 2020. She then had a wonderful year with her husband even though they were under strict covid isolation. On February 9th she experienced a myocardial infarction which in hours proved fatal. Susan was special, unique, irreplaceable, beautiful and one of God’s special people. She is loved dearly by her husband and family who will ever love and miss her.
