Wayne Arthur Vine

Wayne Arthur Vine, known to many as Fuzzy, was born on August 5th, 1946 in Norfolk, VA. He passed away on June 23rd, 2023 at the age of 76, after many years of very severe Stage 4 COPD.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, William Arthur Vine and mother Katherine V. Vine. He is survived by his wife just shy of 55 years of marriage, Patricia S. Vine, sons David W Vine, Brian E. Vine, Daughter-in-laws Brandi Vine and Amy Stumpf, 3 grandsons, Cody Vine, Dakota Sherman and Noah Sherman; 4 great-grandchildren, Aleyah and Emmett Vine, Maria and Daniel Sherman.

Wayne graduated from Princess Anne High School, then enlisted in the Navy Reserve. He then did 32 years as an Elevator Mechanic for IUEC Local 52, a Gold Card Honorary Member.

Wayne loved hunting in Wyoming with his best friend Aubrey Lister, who was also a member of the Tasty Critters. I am sure Wayne and Aubrey are telling tales of hunting now.

Wayne could be working at a mall and a child would see him and think he was Santa. In restaurants the little ones would come over and look or could not leave until they spoke with Santa. At Disney World, the parade character would stop and tell him, Santa was supposed to be at the end of the parade.

A Celebration of Life will be held August 5th from 11am to 1pm at the IUEC Local 52 Union Hall, 4976 Euclid Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
