Oh, Bubba. Whether if someone had told me the day it happened or yesterday- my heart would still feel the same as it does finding out today. I was JUST talking to someone about our adventures. You were my first big brother outside of family. Checking on all the boys I wanted to date and making sure I was happy. Always telling me the truth and sometimes making me cry when I didn’t want to hear it but NEEDED to. And most of all, telling me to put on a rain coat and pulling me into the pouring rain to puddle jump and lay in puddles. (All during our adult years 😂) Nothing in those moments mattered. Thank you for being my friend, thank you for being you. Thank you for being one of the reasons my time in VA beach was so memorable. Your stories will live on as I tell them often. You will live on on them. Give Harambe that but old hug every day like you’ve always wanted. I love you, big bro. I’ll miss you making me laugh. I love you so much. Save me a seat in Gangsta’s Paradise, baby ♥️

I first met Bubba in middle school at IMS. I remember running track with him for a bit. I was a little shy in middle school, and I remember him and I would have some good conversations while running. He helped me come out of my shell. I still remember his bleached hair during that time as that was the baseball thing to do.
In high school I think we had an English class together (Mr Fanny senior year I believe). I didn't know Bubba like a good friend, but even without knowing him that intimately, I knew he was a good person, and he was headstrong in what he believed. It is heartbreaking to hear of this news. I hope his family has the strength to make it through, and I know they will if they bond together. I'm hopeful that things will get better, but it will take time. I've always admired Bubba for being outspoken on some things I strongly agree with him on, and I hope we can all carry on his memory taking away all the positives he has had to offer in life.

Bubba was my only living grandson-- he and I had many "long, into the night" conversations about life and how it effects and affects each of us,
We didn't always see eye to eye nor did we always understand the others reasonings, but we honored the others rights to those differences. He had an insatiable curiosity and a constant "finger over Google" which ended in many belly laughs.-- he loved animals with no exception-- could not stand mistreatment nor injustice to them. His daughters were his world, their presence forever on his mind. I'm going to miss him greatly, just knowing that he is not present to give the love and comfort that he did. My love goes out to those closest to him. Your loss is immeasurable and inconsolable. I pray that you will be able to accept God's greater plan.

I remember Bubba being at the front of every crowd we played for. And sometimes, when no one showed up to see us play, Bubba would be there standing alone to hear us play the same 8 or 9 songs he heard is play a thousand times. So supportive. An amazing human being.

Dobby you're a free elf now! I'm going to miss you at the fire pits singing and just not giving a care in the world. Not to mention your funny jokes inbetween sets at a show in the parking lot.

Can't believe you're gone. Seemed like not even a month ago you were lurking in grassfield looking for me just to tell me how well you were doing. Always had love for you, kid. Thanks for the memories and being an amazing friend to Caiden and I. The world lost a good one.

I'll never forget the love and support that you gave to and our spontaneous adventures, like driving 6 hours to go to Chapel Hill to get a Chicken Cheddar Biscuit at Time out restaurant, or getting matching knuckle tattoos. There was never a dull moment when we hung out, and I'll never forget the times that we shared. I love you and I'll miss you dearly, Bubba. I'll see you on the other side old friend.

I would just like to say we have been very fortunate to know the Lacy family for 17 years now and Carson has always been blessed to have you all in her life. I know Carson always enjoyed her time with Bubba, as well as her step-sister Silas. We are all so heartbroken for the family and you are in our prayers. Thinking of you and prayers for peace and comfort!
