Dan Lee Lyon

He was born in Cordell, Oklahoma. Danny’s family moved to Norman in 1952 where he met the love of his life, Tajwana Breedlove. They were married on February 21, 1958 and had two children, Judy Shaver, and Keith Lyon.

Danny was a devoted husband and father, who loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. They enjoyed annual vacations together. He loved sharing about years spent with friends and family fishing at Blue River, camping and water skiing at Lake Texoma, playing shuffleboard and pool at Bill and Dee’s, and the years he spent raising cattle and relaxing at the ranch that he managed in his later years.

Danny served in the Army. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 35 years before retiring in 1999.

All who knew Danny knew him to be fun and feisty, a man who loved his life and lived it to the fullest. He found happiness as he got older working in his garden, sitting around a bonfire, and occasionally just sitting in the front yard enjoying nature.

Danny is survived by his wife Tajwana Lyon, daughter Judy Shaver and husband Larry, son Keith Lyon and wife Shanna, grandson Taylor Lyon, great granddaughter Hayden Lyon, brother in law Ronald Breedlove (Deborah), sister in law Norma Frisby (Wayne), sister in law Toni Peery (Charles), along with a host of extended family including many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aggie and Bud Lyon, and his sister Jimmie Phyllis Chambless.

A graveside service for Dan will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery, 16163 S Douglas Blvd, Norman, OK 73026.
