

Edgar Forrest “Doc” Holliday, 76, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 28, 2023. Doc was born to Forrest Edgar and Mary Martha (Workman) Holliday on May 14, 1947, in Ronceverte, West Virginia.
Doc was a Signal Corps Officer in the United States Army and served in Vietnam in 1969. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the National Defense Medal, the Bronze Star, and the Air Medal.
Among Doc’s many accomplishments are, while living in Anadarko: President of the Optimist Club; Elder, Deacon and Youth Leader of the First Christian Church; Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year 1989; President of the Riding Club; Scout Master for Troop 327 and under his guidance five young men became Eagle Scouts; member of Order of the Arrow; Wood Badge Recipient; Little League Coach for football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. While living in Pauls Valley: President of United Way; President of the Rotary Club – awarded Paul Harris Fellowship; member of the Mid America Leadership Council. Doc was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church. He retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas after 33 years. He was a lifelong cattle rancher, avid outdoorsman and enjoyed OU football and basketball. If you were to ask anyone close to Doc what they had learned from him, it would be how to be a good person. He loved God, his family and his community.
Doc is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Susan Holliday; his children, Matt Holliday, wife Mitzi Holliday of Stuart, Oklahoma and Kelly Eggar, husband David Eggar of Yukon, Oklahoma, his grandchildren, Meghan Holliday, Jacob Holliday, Chad Eggar and his great-grandchild, Wyatt Holliday.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 1100am on November 3rd 2023, at the First Christian Church in Norman, Oklahoma.
A memorial service for Doc will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church, 220 S. Webster Ave., Norman, OK 73069.
