

She was born February 6, 1925 to Mike and Euna Osborn in Newalla, Oklahoma and attended schools in the area most of her primary years and graduated from Norman High School.
She had two brothers, Alvin and Gerald Osborn and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and friends with whom she remained close throughout her life. She married her adored husband Troy G. Cummings on July 3, 1964 where, along with her two daughters and their children, from her first marriage to James Marti, formed a profound family bond for 44 years.
Mother was defined by her family and her family defined by her. It was what she loved most about life. She was a simple farm girl whose appreciation of the basic things in life brought her the greatest joy. She enjoyed time with her first family, extended family, and friends throughout her life and derived great joy in their accomplishments.
She was employed at the University of Oklahoma and later retired from Civil Service at Tinker AFB as an administrative clerk. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed making ceramics, music, traveling, nature, and her church family at Alameda Baptist Church for many years where she and Troy were charter members.
She is survived by her daughter, Jimmie Lou Shepherd and husband Will of St. Augustine, Florida, Grandson’s, Steven Smith of Albuquerque, NM and James Jason Bagby of Norman, great-grandchildren Caitlin Smith and Stuart Smith, along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins from her immediate and extended families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Troy; daughter, Sharon Graham; brothers, Alvin and Gerald Osborn; nephews, James and Michael Osborn; grandson, Douglas Ray Smith.
Services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Alameda Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Ratliff officiating. Burial will be at Norman IOOF Cemetery, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
