Earl graduated from Norman High School and was drafted into the Army in 1967 as a Cook. After being discharged from the Army, Earl became a Surgical Tech and was in the healthcare field at Norman Regional Hospital until his retirement.
In Earl’s free time, Earl loved watching TV, listening to country and western, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Earl was a very loving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He spent many hours showing his daughter all of his Vietnam films of him in the military. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren when he bought them baby chickens for them to raise. He would talk your ears off if you were willing to listen to government history, Norman history, as well as his television on westerns, and history. Many times, telling us that the news has it wrong. If you decided to tell him that he was wrong, the argument was on, and it did not matter if you experienced it you were wrong. But it was fun to argue with him at times. Earl and Wilma loved Golden Corral.
On March 17, 1976, Earl married the love of his life, Wilma J. Shawn. They spent 48 wonderful years together until Earl’s passing. Together, they had two children, Earl, and Jennifer.
Earl is preceded in death by his son Earl Eugene Roley, parents Ervin L. and Laura L. (Hayes) Roley, brothers Ervin L. Roley Jr, David C. Roley, and sister Linda K. (Roley) Springs.
Those left to cherish Earl’s memory are his wife Wilma of the home, daughter Jennifer Byington and husband Sam of Norman, Oklahoma, brother Ervin’s wife Nancy of Norman, Oklahoma, and sister Sharon Marshall of Salyersville, Kentucky, grandchildren Ashley, Charles, and Tyler Byington, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
