

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at the Primrose Chapel followed by burial at Norman IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at Primrose Funeral Service.
She was born April 29, 1920, to George and Leona Whittle in Manchester, Texas. She married Hubert Phelps in 1961.
Mrs. Phelps was a clerk at Central State Hospital, where she retired. One of her passions was fishing with her son at Lake Texoma and grandchildren at the Walden home. She loved to travel, gardening, cooking and spending time with family. She was a member of Immanual Baptist Church.
For the last seven years Mrs. Phelps has resided at Grace Living Center. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Bobby Harmening, daughter, Janice Autry, and stepdaughter, Mary Lee Edwards.
Mrs. Phelps is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Walden and husband Fred of Norman; her sister, Lucille Coats of Norman; daughter-in-law, Nancy Harmening of Wichita, Kansas; stepson Freddy Phelps, of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, G. T. Harmening of Norman, Doug Autry and wife April of Hugo, Todd Autry and wife Gayla of Norman; Jessica Crook and husband, Jeff of Plano, Texas; Tonny Walden and wife, Sara of Norman; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
