

Hazel Sandy Arden was born on April 9, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ralph Thomas and Emma Jean (Quillin) Sandy. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capital Hill Highschool in 1967. She then furthered her education at BYU for one year, later transferring to Central State College where she received her Bachelors in Special Education. Following her education, she married Charles Arden in Oklahoma City on January 4, 1980, and they made their home in Edmond for a short time before moving to Norman. She began working at Tinker Air Force Base in the late 1960’s as an aircraft mechanic and later moved into the planning department before retiring in 2005. Following her retirement she became a full time homemaker caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed canning, cooking and genealogy and working on her church activities. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Arden of Norman, Oklahoma; two sons, David Arden and wife Rachel of Ada, Oklahoma, and Jared Arden of Norman, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Maverick Arden and Emaleigh Arden both of Ada, Oklahoma; three sisters, Regina Dyer, Mary Sandy, and Renee Jantz all from Oklahoma City.
