Hazel passed away on January 30, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Kismit High School in Kansas. Hazel married her husband of more than fifty years, Francis H. Pitts, and relocated to Bell Flower, California. There he worked for General Motors and she excelled as a mother and homemaker. Hazel moved to Norman, Oklahoma in 2000.
The Pitts family reunions (held annually at various cities around the United States) were one of her favorite things. She loved spending time with extended family, especially the sisters and brothers-in-law.
Hazel is survived by her son, Bruce H. Pitts of Norman; four grandsons, Bruce H. Pitts, Jr. and Eric Brian Pitts of Norman and Robert and Michael Hughes of California; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Butcher of Sacramento, California. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Francis Pitts.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 4, 2011 at Norman Community Church of the Nazarene in Norman, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
