He joined the Navy and spent several years serving his country. He married Linda Kay Mears in 1964, and together they shared 61 wonderful years. Jerry entered the ministry after his time in the Navy and shepherded many people throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, his son, Kirk and his wife, Lisa, their children Kevin and Michaela and her husband Jeremy. His son, Derek and his wife Pamela, and their children, Caitlyn, Samuel, Adriel, Elijah, Lizzy, and Ellyn. He is also survived by his nephews, Rick and Vince Freeman and many cousins.
Visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, US, on Thursday May 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and the Funeral Service will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, US, on Friday May 15, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Final resting place will be at Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 1913 N. Porter Ave., Norman.
