
March 12, 1928 - Nov 28, 2014 MOORE John Parish was born to William Penn and Mary Emma Parish March 12, 1928, in Oklahoma City. He passed away peacefully Friday, November 28, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. John met his future wife of 63 years, Roberta, in Maud, Oklahoma. They were married July 6, 1951, in Moore, Oklahoma. After serving as a paratrooper in the Army, he began his 35-year career at Tinker AFB as a computer specialist. John was very proud to have served as a volunteer fireman and a city councilman for the City of Moore. John enjoyed watching the Oklahoma Sooner football and basketball teams. He especially enjoyed spending many years boating, fishing and being with the whole family at his cabin on Lake Eufaula. He enjoyed playing dominoes with his friends on Saturday mornings. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Penn and Mary Emma Parish; brother, Bill Parish; and sister, Lily Litz. John is survived by wife, Roberta, of the home in Moore; daughter, Kathy Bahner and husband Ron, of Oklahoma City; sons, Mike Parish and wife Debbie, of Oklahoma City; and Pat Parish, of Moore; sister, Mary Neal, of Moore; and brother-in-law, Bob Hart and wife Earlene, of Moore. John was known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Po." His grandchildren are Jeremy Parish, of Moore; Kevin Bahner and wife Kristy, of Oklahoma City; Nathan Parish, of Oklahoma City; Ryan Parish, of Moore; Kelly Peterman and husband Brandon, of Oklahoma City; and Alissa Tymchuk and husband Randy, of Moore. His great-grandchildren are Blake Howell, Kolby and Daxton Milburn, Jentrie Peterman, Kaden Bahner, and Brody Tymchuk; also, two great-grandchildren, Brett Tymchuk and Kori Bahner, expected in December. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. John was a very loving and godly man. He loved his family with all of his heart. John will be missed by all, but we are at peace knowing he is looking down on us from Heaven. We love you. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and staffs of Oklahoma Heart Hospitals North and South, Crossroads Hospice, and Rambling Oaks Living Center. We cannot thank you enough for the excellent loving care of our loved one. Services will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church of Moore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Home, Norman, Oklahoma.
