I’m very sorry for John’s passing . I knew him through his sister, Becky, who passed in 1988. He was a kind, tender hearted person. God Bless his loved ones who have lost such a kind soul.

1980s, worked with John at Target. He was the best guy.  I will always remember his "dead grandma's BBQ sauce" which he made at just about every get together.  He was the best Santa every year. John will be truly missed.

John Was always proud of his  morel harvesting which brought not so much fortune  but  a bit of fame in the local paper.   There were also the piles of morels to eat though, so there was that.  

John you will be missed by many of us. I’m sorry that I lost contact with you and never hooked back up. I had so many great times with you and adventurous times. Your,  “three on the tree” RED Ford truck, Hunting and fishing and a bull named “George”.  Never without a smile, you provided me with a great friendship that has lasted all these years.  So many John stories that will make you live on and on.  Rest now I will see you again...down on the river. Love you

I have known John all my life. Our mothers were the best of friends and I went to Nursing school with Becky his sister.  He loved a good prank or joke and was stubborn as a mule. So sad the way his life ended. RIP John 

We love you, John and are blessed with nearly 50 years of memories beginning when you were a student of Ed's in the 1970s. You were one of his favorites and we all know it wasn't because of academics! Our friendship developed over the years and we have so many 'John Philpin' stories. We love to tell about pizza deliveries you made to us in our early days--fake orders and we were the beneficiaries. You and your group coming by and enjoying an evening with us, including Trey who was about 5. Trey loves telling about the Christmas present from you--the electric football game. How about our Explorer Post (Tish and Ed were sponsors) and our main activity was ushering during OU football games. We will never run out of stories. God Bless you, rest in peace,
