John graduated college from North Texas State before serving in the military. In 1959, at the age of 23, John was honorably discharged form the United States Army and he began to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Sartori was a Radiologist for over 17 years before becoming a Psychiatrist and retiring in 2014 from the VA in Marion, Indiana where he helped his fellow veterans.
During his 40 years in the medical field, Dr. Sartori practiced and continued to uphold licenses in 7 different states. During an internship in Saginaw, Michigan, he met and eventually married a young RN named Carol. John and Carol had two children, Nichole Alicia, and John Joseph and 5 grandchildren. Alec, Avery and Taylor Iverson, and Dante and Calla Sartori.
John enjoyed chess, playing cards with friends, watching movies, and was active in his local church. He would never hesitate to give you the shirt of his back and was always there and willing to help his family and anyone in need.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, two children, five grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
A graveside service for John will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM at Norman IOOF Cemetery, 1913 N. Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071.
