Jon Patrick Lofftus, 63, known as “Pat” to his family and close friends, passed away at home in Norman, Oklahoma on October 12, 2019. Jon was born on February 14, 1956 in Macomb, Illinois to Keith F. and Mary Jane (Carstens) Lofftus. After high school, Jon first attended Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois, then Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he graduated summa cum laude in 1985 with a degree in business management. His academic achievements were noted in the Who's Who of LLCC and again in the Who's Who of OBU.
After completing college, Jon moved to the Norman area where he served many years working in various management positions within the grocery industry. In addition to his work, he also pursued his life-long passion for history, science and art by becoming a collector of paintings, Native American works, antiques, books, pottery, sculptures, military memorabilia, and electronics. He had a reputation for being a kind, knowledgeable man who was always willing to help others.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Keith F. Lofftus and older brother, James Michael Lofftus. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane (Carstens) Lofftus of Macomb, Illinois; an older half-brother, Chris Kepler and family of Anchorage, Alaska; his younger brother, Joseph Kelly Lofftus and family of Moore, Oklahoma; the family of his deceased brother, James Michael Lofftus, of Moore Oklahoma and Springfield, Illinois; and Leigh-Ann Rucker of Norman, Oklahoma. Private burial will be in Macomb, Illinois. Donations in Jon's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
