

Judith "Judy" Lynette Watson, 61, passed away peacefully at her home in Norman, Oklahoma Monday, May 2, 2011. Her health had significantly deteriorated over the past few years as she struggled a long, arduous battle with COPD.
Judy was born December 30, 1949, in Liberal, Kansas, daughter of Aden Barrett, Jr. and Annette Robertson. As a young child, she and her brother, Mike, moved to Norman, Oklahoma where they were raised by their grandparents, Hazel and Aden Barrett, Sr. Judy graduated from Norman High School in May of 1968.
Judy fell in love with Jeffrey Watson, and they were united in marriage June 21, 1968. Their daughter Tammy Lynette was born September 9, 1968 followed by the birth of their son, Jason Allen November 22, 1971.
Judy was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She had a tremendous zest for life, and although she faced trials, as we all do, she will be fondly remembered as a beautiful, independent, free spirit with an infectious smile and kind, loving heart.
Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents Hazel and Aden Barrett, Sr. of Norman, and sister-in-law, Karen Barrett of Oklahoma City.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Tammy Watson of Houston, Texas; son, Jason Watson of Norman; father, Aden Barrett of Norman; mother Annette Robertson of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Mike Barrett and niece, Kenna Mason of Oklahoma City, half-sisters, Lisa Wheeler, Dana Domstead and half-brother, Mark Barrett, and her beloved dog Abe all of Norman and the father of her children and dear, lifetime friend, Jeff Watson.
