Mary Lynn Caveny, beloved wife and pillar of her community, peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on April 8, 1941, in Bono, Texas, to Herschel James Grady and Nova Pauline Turner. Mary completed her associate’s degree and embarked on a journey marked by faith, family, and cherished moments.
Mary's heart was always in Texas, until she made Oklahoma her home in 1959. A true Texan at heart, she found solace and joy in the soulful melodies of country music, and her spirit was uplifted by the vibrant hue of red, her favorite color. Her idea of a perfect day was one bathed in sunshine, with temperatures hovering around 75 degrees, while the laughter of children playing filled the air.
Throughout her life, Mary epitomized the virtues of support and care, instilling in her loved ones the importance of family bonds. She was a beacon of strength and compassion, teaching those around her the value of nurturing and protecting one's own. Mary lived by her faith, earning a reputation as a God-fearing and trustworthy individual who touched the lives of many. An avid traveler, Mary found joy in exploring new places and experiencing different cultures.
Yet, her greatest accomplishment was the unwavering care and devotion she bestowed upon her husband, Ron. Together, they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, creating countless memories until his passing in July of 2018. Mary was a devoted member of the South Park Baptist Church, where her faith flourished, and her spirit found solace.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith, forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her. In the embrace of her loved ones and surrounded by cherished memories, Mary Lynn Caveny has found eternal peace, her spirit now free to journey on to new horizons. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Ron Caveny, sister, Jean Ellen Masterson and Aunt Myrtle Cline and husband Ray Cline.
Mary is survived by; brother, John Hart and wife Darlene, Niece, Shauna Blake and son Sean, Niece, Kerensa Sturgell, son Broeden and daughter Jaedence Sturgell. Brother, John Everhart and wife Betty and three nephews. Kay Sims and Family, Ellen Highland and husband Mark and Family, Terry Cline and wife Linda and family, Nicky Cline, Sister-in-law Susan Caveny and son Don Ricci and wife Shauna and family, son Jason Caveny and wife Sarah and family.
A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Primrose Funeral Service.
