

Phygenia was born in Stigler, Oklahoma, on February 19, 1943, to Rev. Doyne and Rose Farmer Harrald. She was a devoted Christian and an excellent church pianist and organist, and a constant positive encouragement to all. She served forty years as a public school teacher. She prepared herself by earning a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Education and forty-five hours beyond. Along with her husband and children she had lived in Poteau and Spiro, Oklahoma, Clovis, New Mexico, and Texas. She was a member of Journey Church in Norman, Oklahoma, and the Cleveland County YMCA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Harrald; two brothers, Kenneth Harrald and Van Harrald.
She is survived by her husband of more than fifty-five years, Donald S. Wheat, of the home; her son, Michael Wheat and wife Nina of Norman, Oklahoma; her Daughter, Lisa McCray and husband Steven of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren; Colin McCray, Cale McCray, Claire McCray, Ethan Wheat and Taylor Wheat, and five precious great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Jones of Stigler, Oklahoma; and one brother, Tom Harrald and wife Alva of Pocola, Oklahoma.
Any memories or contributions should be given to the “Love Works” ministry of Journey Church. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 5:00pm, at the Primrose Funeral Service Chapel in Norman Oklahoma
