He was born June 27, 1935 in Endicott, New York to Ralph Valentine and Pauline Russell. On March 9, 1968 he married Sandra Greer in Upstate New York.
George was the patriarch of his family. He spent many years in Corporate Meat Sales for Scrivner Distribution and retired in 1995. He then continued work with Norman Public Schools in Transportation until his second retirement in 2004, but his biggest accomplishment in his life was his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife: Sandra of almost 48 years of Norman; children: Michael (Linda) Russell of Jordan, NY and David Russell of Norman, OK; grandchildren: Danielle and Nicole; six siblings; many nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends that he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service Friday February 26, 2016 at First Christian Church, 220 S Webster Ave, Norman, OK 73069. Rev. David Spain will officiate.
