Gail was born on April, 21,1949 in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was the first daughter and second child at the time of Fenton F."Gregg" Winters and Marian Louise Winters. Her and her older brother, Gary, along with Mom and Dad moved to San Antonio, Texas in her early childhood due to her father's broadcasting career in radio and TV.
While in San Antonio, their family grew and Gail found herself becoming a "Big" sister to not one, but two younger brothers, Glenn and then Gregory "Scott". Shortly after that, in 1960, her Dad's new work for the FAA moved the family to what would become their final home in Norman, Oklahoma. It is here that Gail became a "Big" Sis again only this time to a sister, Darla.
Gail enjoyed her high school years and while competing in Dance skate and art and cooking competitions won many awards. Graduating in 1967, from Norman High, with honors, she gained employment at a large auto dealership in Oklahoma City. She would work for another dealership in Norman before moving to San Francisco, Ca. While there she really enjoyed the ocean and eating her seafood and all the activities of beach life. She was employed as an office manager for an optometrist before moving back home to Norman after eight years in California.
Management and customer skills along with her organizational tenacity kept her employed in many more arenas including having a successful business as an Avon representative for many years. Gail was an independent and focused person and quite frankly, an amazing "big" sister! Her strong love for her family was a blessing for us all and especially our parents when she became their main caregiver in their final years. She really grew in Christ at this time and it was a joy to see. We will miss you Sis! Love from us all!
Gail was preceded in death by her parents Fenton "Gregg" and Louise as well as her brothers Glenn and Gary Winters. She is survived by her two youngest siblings, Greg Winters and Darla Gustafson. Also her four nieces and five nephews with their families.
