It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence "Lloyd" Herzog on August 22, 2025, at the age of 77.
Lloyd will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 34 years, Theresa Herzog and his children; Kyle Herzog (Michelle), Peter Bisson and Wayne Thornton (Christina). He is also survived by his sister Geraldine (Gerry) Fomich and sister in-laws, Annetta Herzog, Emily Herzog, Marilyn Herzog, Kerry Bisson, Alice (Lefty) Caldwell, Gabrielle Frost, Lise Laderoute, Marcelle Cadieux.
He leaves behind grandchildren, Lacey (Jeff), Curtis, Bradley, Stephen, Devin, Danny, Diana, Trish, Hayden, Jason, Kassidy, Brooke, Leighton, Jayce and many great-grandchildren Including Trevor, Lyndon, Colt, Bentley, Tyler, Crispin, Willem, Penelope, Carter, Kirsten, Kade, Kingston, and Khloie as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Ada Herzog, his daughter Shelly Taylor, brothers Doug Herzog, Wes Herzog, Lyle Herzog, Vern Herzog and brother in-laws Bill Fomich, Jerry Bisson, Guy Cadieux and Emile Laderoute.
Born and raised in Mayview Saskatchewan, Lloyd proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy as an electrician aboard the HMCS Columbia. Later in life, he continued his commitment to youth and service as the branch president of the Port Alberni Navy League. Community Service was always a priority for him, and he dedicated many years as chairman of the Port Alberni Toy Run, Giving back to others with generosity and leadership.
Lloyd worked for many years at the Port Alberni pulp mill until his retirement. He and Theresa then returned to Saskatchewan to be closer to their family. Family was at close to the heart of everything Lloyd did, and he was most proud of the love and respect shared between him and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will also be remembered for his love of Bowling, his countless friendships, and his endless building and renovation projects. Lloyd often said with a smile "Come for coffee, and bring a hammer."
Lloyd's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the Emergency and Palliative Care staff at the Battleford Union Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Plans for a celebration of life will be posted at a later date.
