He will be remembered by his loving wife, Genevieve Semaganis, and his children: Jason (Blair), Vernell (Nikita), Kenny (Misty), Terry (Melissa), Evan, and Drake Johnson. He is also survived by his nieces Cindia (Winston), Theresa Morrison, Racheal Semaganis, and his nephew, Anglish Johnson. Hubert was cherished by his grandchildren: Keira, Vernita, Stella, Elena, Thaddeus, Guyis, Tanija, Kyle, Eileen, Elvis, Darrell, Dezaree (Terry), Emery, Martin, Madelyn (Richie), Jermaine (Sonny), Ellis, Kyra, Amber, and Napew Johnson, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Hubert was predeceased by his parents, Abraham (Eliza) Johnson; brothers, Max Bear, Willard Bear, Ernest Johnson, and David Johnson; sisters, Sophie Johnson and Louisa Johnson; nephews, Elvis Johnson and Edward Johnson; and granddaughter, Eliza Crowe (Dustyhorn-Johnson).
A committal service will be held at Little Pine First Nation, located at BOX 70, Paynton, SK, SOM2J0, Canada. The service is scheduled for February 4, 2026, at 3:30 pm.
