A wake for Ida will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Poundmaker Veterans Hall, Poundmaker Cree Nation. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Poundmaker Veterans Hall.
Ida is survived by her special granddaughter Evelyn Baptiste. Grandchildren; Audrey, Carol, Lyle, Elayne, Celeste and Leslie. Nieces Nancy Checkosis and Viola Checkosis. Nephews; Rodney (Darlene) Checkosis and Ernest Checkosis. As well as all her Grandchildren, great Grandchildren, great great Grandchildren and great great great Grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her children; Mary Black and Leslie Antoine. Her parents Baptiste and Marie Antoine. Siblings; Benjamin, Charlie, Anthony, Julia Margaret, Hannah, Joe Hoss, and Eva. And Philip Standinghorn.
Ida will be laid to rest in Poundmaker Cemetery , Poundmaker Cree Nation.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Bear, Preston Baptiste , Doran Favel, Carl Checkosis, Travis Checkosis and Dustin Baptiste.
