

Born in Charleston to Raymond Doan Sr. and Mildred Cole Doan, Byron's life was a testament to his deep connections with family and his unwavering commitment to his community.
He is survived by his father, Raymond Doan Sr. of North Charleston; his son, Byron Doan Jr. (Angelina);
his brothers, Raymond Doan Jr. of Moncks Corner and John Doan (Lynn) of Salem, AL; his grandson, Byron Doan III;
his granddaughter, Adeline Doan; and his aunts, Connie Grubbs (Keith) and Pat Bastion (Ed).
Byron is also remembered by his nephew, Clark Doan; his nieces, Kelsey Hyche (Will), Michaela Franklin (Mark), Carrie Doan, and Kaleigh Doan;
as well as his great-niece, Blakely Ochs, and great-nephew, Wyatt Franklin.
Byron's contributions to the Charleston bowling community were profound and enduring.
From his early days as a junior bowler to his roles as a center employee, youth coach, GCUSBC Board member,
past President, Hall of Fame inductee, and Lifetime member, he left an indelible mark on the sport and its participants.
His passion for bowling fostered countless friendships and inspired many.
Known for his kindness and willingness to help those in need, Byron touched many lives beyond the bowling lanes.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation and chapel service will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, September 6th, 2024.
The family will receive guests from 10:00 – 11:00 am with a chapel service to follow at 11:00am.
Byron will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park thereafter.
