She was a true lady in every sense. All who knew Carol knew her as a loving, caring, and humble woman. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. As a wife, she loved her late husband, Jim, with an everlasting love. As a mother, she had a loving, caring heart that could always see the best in children; often being called “Mom” by kids who weren’t her own.
Carol and Jim loved to travel to the mountains, often taking their children and grandchildren with them. This was always a highlight for her and was a great time of relaxation.
Carol made the decision to trust Christ as her Savior while she and Jim made their home in Charleston, SC. This decision changed the course of her life. She became an active member of Charles Towne Baptist Church, now known as Coastal Light Baptist Church. She quickly became involved in every facet of the ministry of the church and served the Lord for multiple many years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Jim Chambers. She is survived by her children: James Chambers, Jamie Jaldin, Patricia Peake, Royal Peake, and Lisa Peake – her grandchildren: Kari Hathcock, Kasi Chambers, James Jaldin, Joel Jaldin, and Jessica Jaldin. She is also survived by her sister Lou Ann Thurston and her nephew Richard Charping and great nephew Alex Charping, and several great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406.
