Charles “Charlie” Luther Reeves, age 63, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Born on September 24, 1961, in Charleston, SC. Charlie was the son of the late Wesley Roosevelt Reeves and Mary Sue Reeves. Charlie spent most of his childhood in Georgia, where he developed a deep love for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Charlie moved back to Charleston as a teenager, where he graduated from Goose Creek High School in 1980.
Charlie was a proud entrepreneurial contractor, following in the footsteps of his father. He was well-known, loved, and respected in his field of work. You can go anywhere in the Lowcountry, and are sure to see something that Charlie built.
When he wasn’t hard at work, you could find Charlie at home, where he was sure to have a dog in his lap, and a game on the TV. If he wasn’t lounging around the house, he was out seeing what he could get into, which typically meant buying a new toy! If it was fun, Charlie was ALL over it! Boats, Motorcycles, fast cars, golf carts…you name, he had it.
Charlie was a presence, and anytime he walked into a room, his joy was felt. He had an infectious laugh, an endless supply of jokes, and never forgot a punch line. Along with his sunny personality, he had the biggest, most giving heart to match. He’d give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his brother, Jimbo Reeves, and his aunt, Libby Biernacki.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Terri Lewis Reeves; son, Chad Reeves; daughter, Brittney Reeves Bedsaul (Cameron); Grandchildren: Julia Reeves, Destiny Reeves, CJ Reeves, Skylar Reeves, and Cali Grace Bedsaul; sisters: Connie McQuithy (Steve) and Serena Knight (Claussen); and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie’s name to any local animal shelter.
A visitation for Charlie will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Carolina Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406. A celebration of life will take place in the chapel from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Charlie will be laid to rest thereafter at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
