Deloris Ann Lingo, 61, of Ladson, S.C., passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, in Charleston, S.C. Born in Los Angeles, CA, on July 10, 1964, to Wayne Lingo and Carol Carrington, she lived a life full of simple pleasures and deep devotion.
She spent her working years in restaurant management, bookkeeping, and bartending. When she needed peace, she found it at the beach, collecting shells, tanning, and letting the quiet wash over her. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she spent much of her time at home with her five dogs and cat.
Deloris will be remembered for her free spirited laugh, quick wit, and deep love and admiration for her children.
Few knew the depth of her creative spirit, but Deloris had a gift for both art and poetry. Her poems, tender and honest, were about being a good person and keeping going even when life was hard.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wayne Lingo, and her nephew, Darryk Francka.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Carrington; stepfather, Lynn Carrington; her three children and their spouses: son Chad Lawson and his wife Tiffany, daughter Carrah Lingo and her husband Ryan Miller, and daughter Christina VanWinkle; grandchildren Nicolae and Keiser Lawson; aunt, Deloris Crozat; and sister, Sherri Lingo.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage friends and family to express their support by donating to Raintree Jacks Jack Russell Rescue.
Deloris Lingo's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the heart and vascular staff at Roper Hospital who cared for her during her time there, and Clifford Bolden of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for leading her graveside service.
May we honor her strength and spirit by living boldly, showing compassion to animals, and choosing kindness in all things.
